Jaime Jarrin Visits Squawkin Offices; Team Members Promptly Lose It

Sep 11, 2014

Big thrill earlier today when the great Jaime Jarrin, the Spanish-language voice of the Los Angeles Dodgers since 1958, visited our offices along with his grandson, former Dodgers player and current Dodgers talent scout Stefan Jarrin.

Jaime, who was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1998 and is for millions of Anglenos “the voice of summer,” as our creative director Jon Santana put it, dropped by the office to learn more about Squawkin. He even Squawked his famous home run call, which was a huge treat to see and hear in person and will be replayed many, many times around here.

It was way cool to have him here, even for someone like me who didn’t grow up in the LA area.  The reaction from members of Team Squawkin who did grow up in the area was priceless.  You could practically hear the jaws hitting the floor.

Our thanks to Jaime and Stefan for stopping by and thanks to our CFO Phil Chan for setting up the meeting — it’s one we won’t soon forget.

PS – A bit of trivia: The Dodgers are the only MLB team with two announcers who are Hall of Fame inductees — Jaime Jarrin and Vin Scully.
